VIDEO: Trump Refuses New Presidential Luxury Plane to STOP ‘Out of Control’ Cost to Taxpayers

It looks like Boeing is feeling the heat after Donald Trump called out the aerospace giant in a tweet on Tuesday.

Trump confirmed to reporters that he intends to do what he can to stop the contract — saying that the cost was ridiculous: “I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

“The plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion for the Air Force One program and I think it’s ridiculous,” Trump later said to a reporter at Trump Tower. “I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

Some wondered whether a speech given by Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg last week might have prompted Trump’s comments. Because Boeing does a lot of business with China (one in three 737s built in 2015 was for a Chinese buyer), the CEO is understandably wary of Trump:

“I’m not a political pundit or prognosticator — we have too many of those — but anyone who paid attention to the recent campaigns and the election results realizes that one of the overarching themes was apprehension about free and fair trade.”
