Trump Ditches Press, Then Quietly Does Something That Has Everyone BUZZING

Want to know what President Trump is like when he doesn’t think any press is watching?

Benny Johnson over at Independent Journal Review got a chance to provide a rare peek into the life of the most powerful man in the world.

The truth is that Trump is pretty much the same in private as he is in public, just less agitated since no mainstream reporters are hounding him and lying to his face.

Johnson got the chance to observe the president up close after getting tipped off to where he’d be dining with family and friends. He quickly made reservation at a table near where he knew Trump would want to sit.

Ok, we need first to point out that President Trump went out for dinner with a group of family and friends and DID NOT have Secret Service clear the premises. He walked into a crowded venue and dined with all those average folks.

And the average folks LOVED it.

Johnson reported hearing one excited woman exclaim: “Is it him? It’s really him! Oh my God! This is like a dream!”

Shortly after, the entire BLT Steakhouse at Trump Hotel got “on its feet, cheering and applauding.”

As the president stopped here and there to shake hands and take selfies, another woman shouted, “Donald, it’s my birthday!”

The president, unfazed by being so casually addressed, shouts back, “Happy birthday! How about a birthday present? Let’s take a photo.”

Johnson reports that the same woman later told him that “she had no idea Trump would be here. She booked the birthday dinner a month ago and said meeting Trump here was, ‘like meeting Walt Disney in Disneyland.'”

The take-away here is that the people LOVE DONALD TRUMP, and he loves them.

More than that, despite being president and despite all his wealth, Trump is a very regular guy. Not at all pretentious like our previous president.

That was attested to by one of Trump’s waiters for the evening, who told Johnson, “It was hard to serve him because he is so funny and relaxed, it makes you laugh.”

And that was precisely the impression left on visiting British politician Nigel Farage, one of the leaders of the Brexit movement, who was invited to dine with Trump.

After the dinner, Farage told Johnson:

“You know what amazes me about your President? He is a regular bloke. Truly. Just a normal chap. Upstairs at dinner, he spoke to the table like any regular guy out to dine with friends and family. There is no pretension at all.”

That takes us to the photo attached to this story. That’s a shot of Trump quietly giving the busboys a generous tip out of his own pocket.

Of course, as a journalist, Johnson couldn’t help butting in and asking at least one question.

“I get ahead of him and squeeze in one question, asking the President if he will be attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this year. ‘No,’ he says with a smirk, ‘You like that?’ The crowd around me cheers in agreement as Trump sits down with his party.”

Johnson does a wonderful job of documenting the entire evening, along with plenty of photos. The whole story is really worth a read.
