They’re Calling It the Most Important Move Yet of Trump’s Presidency

By

It went largely unnoticed because the mainstream media doesn’t like reporting on President Trump’s successes.

But what went down on Monday is being called by some the most important move yet in the Trump presidency.

A day before, Trump tweeted about escalating the “trade war” with China by finally imposing tariffs on a vast amount of imports from the Asian giant.

Wrote the president:

“For 10 months, China has been paying Tariffs to the USA of 25% on 50 Billion Dollars of High Tech, and 10% on 200 Billion Dollars of other goods. These payments are partially responsible for our great economic results. The 10% will go up to 25% on Friday. 325 Billions Dollars of additional goods sent to us by China remain untaxed, but will be shortly, at a rate of 25%. The Tariffs paid to the USA have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China. The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!”

A day later, on Monday of this week, Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer confirmed that the president’s tweets weren’t just wishful thinking, and that the new tariffs would go into effect on Friday.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon later said, “I happen to think today was the most important day of Donald Trump’s presidency.”
