Sad Details Emerge About Man Killed in Trump Tower Fire

President Trump’s name was in the news for a tragic reason completely unrelated to his governance on Sunday.

A fire on the 50th floor of the iconic New York City high rise killed a 67-year-old man who was reportedly beloved by his neighbors in the luxury Midtown building.

It was later revealed that the victim was Todd Brassner, an art dealer who purchased his Trump Tower digs back in 1996.

Brassner was described by neighbors as a “lovely man” who like the finer things in life.

But he had struggled in recent years.

From the New York Post:

“He liked fine dining and the best things in life and I think his expenses got ahead of him,” a friend of his told The Post.

Brassner’s family had supported him financially for years, but debt and failing health plagued him in recent years.

“The Debtor an art collector/dealer. He has bought and sold art his entire adult life,” according to his bankruptcy filing. “His family is wealthy. Until the end of 2014, his family helped him pursue this passion. But their support was limited.”

It noted that for the past few years “he has been plagued with debilitating medical problems that have made it difficult for him to function.”
