Right After ‘Roseanne’ Becomes Huge Success, ‘Last Man Standing’ Gets Outstanding News

And in light of the success of Roseanne’s more conservative Trump-supporting character, Fox is considering bringing back a show conservatives have long hoped would be resurrected.

From TMZ:

The reboot bug has bitten FOX hard, and the biggest beneficiary is Tim Allen’s recently-canceled show, “Last Man Standing.”

Our FOX sources tell us Allen’s show — which was controversially canceled last year — is now under serious consideration for a reboot. There were rumors the show was canceled because of Allen’s personal conservative affiliations — he compared being a conservative in Hollywood to 1930’s Nazi Germany, as well as the conservative character he portrayed on the show.

The irony … we’re told the success of “Roseanne” has intrigued FOX because there appears to be a big Trump-supporting audience out there. FOX produced the show when it aired on ABC, and we’re told the talk now is to possibly reboot and put it on FOX.

Tim Allen had previously said he would be all for the idea when in January Roseanne announced the reboot of her show and that her character would be a Trump supporter.

From Fox News:

“Last Man Standing” fans called on ABC to bring back Allen’s show after Roseanne Barr revealed on Monday her sitcom character is a Trump supporter in the upcoming “Roseanne” reboot headed to the network. Allen’s show famously featured conservative values and many speculated that was the reason behind its cancellation.

“The support from all the fans to bring back ‘Last Man Standing’ is truly overwhelming to me and so appreciated,” Allen told Fox News exclusively. “I, along with the talented writers, wonderful crew and terrific actors would definitely entertain the idea of bringing the show back as there is so much gas left in the tank, more to be said, and laughs to be had.”

ABC had canceled the show despite consistently high ratings. Allen, among others, made no bones about it that he thought it was at least in part political because of the show’s conservative aspects.

“Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years,” Allen wrote on Twitter at the time.

The former “Home Improvement” star has been open about his conservative-leaning politics in the past. Allen told Jimmy Kimmel in March that living in Hollywood right now is akin to Nazi Germany.

“You gotta be real careful around here,” Allen noted. “You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody else believes. This is like ’30s Germany.”

Sounds very positive!
