Rev. Graham Has Some Harsh Words for MSNBC after Firing Great Van Susteren

By

Greta Van Susteren was fire by MSNBC after she started at the cable channel 6 months ago.

CNNMoney also reported that Van Susteren was given no prior notice of the decision and was told her on-air presence was not “confrontational enough.”

MSNBC said that Van Susteren’s nightly 6 p.m. show would be replaced with one hosted by Ari Melber, MSNBC’s chief legal correspondent who also hosts his own weekend show, “The Point.”

The reliably liberal Melber worked on John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign and also served as a legislative aide to Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., before attending law school and moving into media work.

This is what Rev. Graham wrote about this:

I was sorry to learn yesterday that Greta Van Susteren was fired by MSNBC. This cable network just wasn’t a good fit for a fair and honest reporter like her. They’re replacing her with a very liberal commentator, which is no surprise. Greta has never been fired before in her life! She had an exemplary record at CNN, and when she went to Fox News, she quickly moved to #1 in her time slot.

I’ve known Greta for more than 10 years, and she’s a journalist with the highest integrity who takes reporting very seriously. Wouldn’t it be nice if the news media could go back to just reporting the facts rather than pushing agendas? Fox News would be smart to try to get her back—don’t you agree?
