Rep. Ilhan Omar Doesn’t Understand Why Folks Get So Worked Up Over 9/11

By

It shouldn’t come as any great surprise.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, whose already made a name for herself by repeating jihadist-brand anti-Semitic slurs, doesn’t think the 9/11 terrorist attacks on American soil were such a big deal.

The downing of the Twin Towers and the direct assault on the Pentagon were brushed aside as “some people did something” during Omar’s speech at an event for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Far more egregious, in Omar’s view, are the security measures America took following the mass murder of 3,000 Americans by Muslim jihadists.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” the freshman lawmaker claimed.

Omar’s insensitive remarks (to put it mildly) elicited strong rebukes, even from some fellow Muslims:

Needless to say, fellow members of Congress were furious.

“First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something’. Unbelievable,” tweeted Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX).
