Pence, Gingrich Unload on Pelosi, and Things Get Ugly

By

After Nancy Pelosi’s childish antics at the State of the Union, she’s being blasted as a blight on America’s good name.

One of the first to respond to Pelosi publicly ripping up President Trump’s speech the minute he concluded was Newt Gingrich, himself a former Speaker of the House.

Gingrich noted that as Speaker during the Bill Clinton years, he most certainly did not agree with everything his president said, but would never have dreamed of stooping to such undignified behavior.

“As Speaker of the House for four State of the Unions by a President of the other party I am disgusted and insulted by the viciously partisan action of Nancy Pelosi tearing up the speech. She isn’t clever or cute her childishness insults our American traditions -should be censured.”

Of course, everyone also wanted to know what Vice President Mike Pence thought of the stunt, given that he was seated right next to Pelosi.

Speaking to Fox & Friends, Pence said:

“I did not see her do it. I found out a few moments later, and I think it was a new low.

“I wasn’t sure if she was ripping up the speech or the Constitution. It’s clear — the contrast with the president who spent an hour and a half making a speech about America and Nancy Pelosi in the final moments tried to make it about her.

“And I think the American people see through it and see through the pettiness and politics of all of it.

“I think what they got last night was a speech that lifted up the country, that celebrated the incredible progress that we’ve made in our economy, rebuilding our military, strengthening our courts.”
