Parents Floored When Daughter Comes Home With a Basket of Cash

By

It’s expensive to have children. We all probably wish they could bring home baskets of cash every once in a while.

All joking aside, that’s exactly what Addie Bryan did. But the money wasn’t for her family.

Bryan was born with Larsen Syndrome, a rare bone disorder that made her knees unable to bend.

But, after years of treatment at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which was provided to her free of charge, Bryan can today not only walk, but also run.

It’s something of a miracle.

And this little girl’s first instinct was to give back to those who had helped her achieve so much.

For a recent birthday, Bryan asked the public to help her to help others like her.

She stood on a street corner holding a sign informing passing drivers that for her birthday, she wanted to collect donations for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Bryan’s goal was to collect $8,000. By the end of the day, she had over $19,000.

But it didn’t end there.

This little girl’s incredible act caught the attention of the local media, which in turn got others involved.

An official at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital said they received at least $50,000 in additional donations from people who had seen Bryan on the news and wanted to join her campaign.
