Former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Wednesday criticized the foreign policy actions President Joe Biden has taken since beginning his first week in office.
Haley appeared on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” and was asked by hosts Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer to give her thoughts on what the Biden administration has done so far with regard to Russia and China.
“I can tell you Putin has to be pretty ecstatic right now. I mean, one of the things that bothered him the most was how energy independent we had become,” Haley said. “And the idea that President Biden has already cut off the Keystone pipeline, started banning fracking, that in itself is one thing. The fact that Biden is jumping back into the new START agreement, but not even jumping back in, doing it for five years is something that gave Russia a lot of advantage, but never included China…. It is a good first week for Russia right now.”
Haley alluded to Biden’s signing of an executive order that prevents the renewal of construction permits critical to the Keystone XL pipeline, which is being constructed to carry oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and create thousands of jobs. She also mentioned the START Treaty that the U. S. and Russia have agreed to a five year extension on, which some claim benefits Russia, but does not include China.
