Loudmouth Anti-Trump Actress MERYL STREEP Gets Oscar Nomination for One UNBELIEVABLE Reason

Meryl Streep is a great actress. Let’s not deny her that, whatever her faults. So it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary to see her nominated for an Oscar for “Best Actress.”

The only problem is that Streep only starred in one movie over the past year, and by all accounts her performance was far from warranting a Best Actress nomination. That being the case, why is she up for that particular award this year? One Oscar voter is spilling the beans.

Streep starred in the cute romantic comedy “Florence Foster Jenkins.” Streep, and the movie, were okay. Not outstanding, but okay.

And yet, she’s up for Best Actress on the back of that mediocre performance.

An Oscar voter who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter on condition of anonymity said it’s all because of President Trump.

The source revealed:

“I thought Meryl … played [her role in Florence Foster Jenkins] like a clown — she’s cute and adorable, but this woman didn’t matter to me in the end — but people are gaga over Meryl, and I think she solidified her nomination when she gave that speech at the Golden Globes.”

The Oscar voter was referring to Streep’s tearful tirade against President Trump at the Golden Globes in January, before he had even officially taken office.

“I don’t think she would have gotten nominated without it,” said the source.
