The world watched in horror this week as a 24-story apartment tower in London was engulfed in flames.
The fire started at night, which meant nearly all the residents were in their apartments, and in mortal danger.
And that meant London firefighters were in for the battle of their lives.
One of those firefighters tweeted just before rushing into the inferno.
His post has since gone viral, and for good reason:
You know it's not going to be good when your told to write your name on you helmet before you go in! pic.twitter.com/qToYAXa1k8

Twitter users from England and around the world responded with an outpouring of love and support for “Mick” and all the other brave London firefighters.
