Opinion| NY Gov Andrew Cuomo attacks Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her claim that the dramatic rise in shootings and murders are due to poverty and the need for people to shoplift a loaf of bread.
He called her claims, “factually impossible.”
AOC said that people were unable to pay their rent but as Gov Cuomo points out that evictions in the state had been placed on hold.
Therefore, being evicted is not something the people had to worry about yet.

AOC made her comments after a particularly bloody weekend in New York, one in which a one-year-old boy was shot and killed. The lack of law enforcement is the problem, not the lack of a loaf of bread. There has been an unusually large number of shootings especially in a city and state that makes it almost impossible for a law-abiding citizen to own a gun.
The Daily Caller reported:
New York City passed a budget earlier in July, which stripped $1 billion in funding from the New York Police Department (NYPD). Cuomo signed sweeping police reforms last month, which included a ban on police chokeholds, and a repeal of a law which kept disciplinary records of police officers secret.
