JUST IN: Trump Authorizes Military Strikes, Take ‘All Measures’ Necessary

Things are about to get a whole lot hotter in Syria and the Middle East after President Trump authorized US military forces to strike Iran and its allies in the region.

That, of course, puts us on a direct collision course with Russia, which is fighting on the side of Iran and the Syrian regime.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

U.S. forces have been instructed to take all measures needed to protect American interests in Syria, including military measures, as part of an effort that comes after top officials in the Trump administration assessed that Iran is deliberately probing American weaknesses and reactions on the Syrian battlefield.

Iran-backed forces, including Hezbollah, have already initiated multiple encounters with the United States by violating agreements worked out between Washington and Moscow aimed at preventing the various factions targeting ISIS inside Syria from coming into conflict. This is part of a campaign that analysts inside and outside the White House believe is aimed at testing the Trump administration’s resolve.

Now, the astute reader will notice the very significant difference between Trump and Obama in this regard.

That part about agreements between Washington and Moscow would have resulted in Obama taking a defeatist approach to the problem.

He would have cowered at the thought of upsetting the Russians by allowing our own forces to defend themselves. He was more interested in personal legacy than the lives of our soldiers.

Trump, by contrast, couldn’t care less if people scream about him taking on Russia if it means keeping our soldiers alive.

If Moscow won’t rein in its allies in Syria, then Trump’s going to do it for them.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the kind of leadership we’ve been craving for eight long years.
