Iranian Drone Attacks US Forces, Gets TRUMPED By American Jets

By

It’s not any longer just the ragtag jihadist hordes we’re fighting in Syria.

Direct confrontations between American and the Iranian and Russian allies of the Syrian regime are happening with increasing frequency.

This week, an Iranian-made attack drone controlled by a branch of the Syrian military began what appeared to be an attack run on US-led coalition forces.

We’ll never know for sure, because before the drone could get very far it was blasted out of the sky by American fighter jets.

A statement released by the US military read:

“The armed pro-regime Shaheed-129 unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down by a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle at approximately 12:30 a.m. after it displayed hostile intent and advanced on Coalition forces.

“The Coalition has made it clear to all parties publically sic and through the de-confliction line with Russian forces that the demonstrated hostile intent and actions of pro-regime forces toward Coalition and partner forces in Syria conducting legitimate counter-ISIS operations will not be tolerated.”

The Russians responded by threatening to shoot down any foreign planes flying in over Syria, including US forces.

If Moscow follows through on that threat, we could be in for a major explosion in the Middle East and beyond.
