Iran Threatens US If Obama Doesn’t Comply

Iran’s “moderate” president, Hassan Rouhani, on Sunday threatened an unspecified response should US President Barack Obama fail to comply with his demands.

The US Senate last Thursday voted to extend American sanctions on Iran for an additional 10 years.

Rouhani insisted the extension would violate the US-brokered nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers, and that Obama must not sign it into law.

Should Obama fail to comply, “we will act promptly,” warned Rouhani.

Most of the other world powers party to the nuclear agreement have already lifted sanctions against Iran.

But America maintains its own set of sanctions, and most members of the US Congress are unsatisfied with Iran’s adherence, or lack thereof, to the nuclear agreement.
