GOP Rep. Just Uttered The Words That Will Be The DEATH Of The NFL

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) suggested on Tuesday that the federal government should consider halting the massive tax breaks granted to the NFL each year as part of the House tax reform bill, according to Fox News.

“I don’t think that the millionaires and billionaires associated with professional sports ought to get a special tax break that’s not available to the regular small businesses and regular folks in my district and across America,” he said.

Congress is trying to eliminate special interest tax breaks, Gaetz explained.

President Trump tweeted support for the idea, saying the NFL is getting “massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag, and Country. Change tax law!”

The president tweeted about the issue earlier this month:

Gaetz continued, “”I think that these protests that the NFL has engaged in, that the league office has seemingly embraced has really drawn into sharp relief the treatment that they get.”“If there are players with concerns about racial inequality or the criminal justice system, rather than taking a knee, how about they take a stand and actually advocate for some proposals that they think might improve quality of life for people?”
