GOOGLE UNDER FIRE FOR “REDEFINING FASCISM” TO MAKE CONSERVATIVES LOOK BAD

By

Google, has come under fire for apparently redefining the word “fascism” its dictionary to add a partisan meaning to the non-partisan word.

According to Merriam-Webster, ‘fascism means:’

“a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.”

Here’s Google’s definition:

“An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.” with a secondary meaning of “(in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practices.”

Considering that the Nazis (National Socialist German Workers Party) were both fascist and arguably socialist, it is strange that Google would change their definition to mean only a right-wing system can be fascist.

Google also, interestingly, removed the “forcible suppression of opposition” part of their definition, excluding groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter from the “fascism” umbrella.
