Boo-Hoo! Poor Gitmo Terrorists Distraught Over Trump Victory

By

Those poor terrorists locked up at Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo) reacted to the surprise electoral victory of Donald Trump with much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Thirteen years ago, at the height of the war on terror, Gitmo hosted 684 terrorist prisoners.

Well, the war on terror hasn’t ended, but there are a lot fewer jailed terrorists now. Just 61 at Gitmo presently, thanks to Barack Obama’s long, but ultimately failed, mission to see the prison closed.

Hillary or bust

The remaining prisoners at the US-held Cuban enclave had been rooting for Hillary Clinton to become America’s next president. Then they would have had a shot at going home, and, you know, returning to terrorism.

But Trump won. And they aren’t going anywhere. And that terrifies them.

End of the world

A CBS correspondent met with the lawyers of some of the Gitmo terrorists, who were described as entirely distraught by the Trump victory.

“He said that many detainees thought that it was the end of the world and felt terrible and that many detainees asked for tranquilizers, sleeping pills because they were so distraught,” attorney David Remes said of his client.
