George H.W. Bush Inauguration Letter to Trump Goes Public… This is Incredible

By

After George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, were hospitalized this week, a letter they wrote to President-elect Trump when public.

And it is touching.

The letter was written a week ago, before the Bushes were admitted to the hospital for different ailments.

Already then, the elder Bush said he and Barbara were simply not healthy enough to attend an outdoor event in Washington, DC during the winter.

He regretted deeply not being able to be there for Trump’s inauguration.

The letter reads:

Dear Donald,

Barbara and I are so sorry we can’t be there for your Inauguration on January 20th. My doctor says if I sit outside in January, it likely will put me six feet under. Same for Barbara. So I guess we’re stuck in Texas.

But we will be with you and the country in spirit. I want you to know that I wish you the very best as you being this incredible journey of leading our great country. If I can ever be of help, please let me know.

Now, keep in mind that Barbara Bush publicly opposed Trump during the campaign. After all, her other son, Jeb, had also been a candidate. And George H.W. had indicated he would break with Republican Party ranks and vote for Hillary Clinton.

However, the Bushes are classy people. Trump may not have been their man. But he won the election, fair and square. And they respect the democratic process, and are now ready to get behind our next president.

Shame the same cannot be said for the Obamas…
