Former Democrat Vernon Jones Says “Decades Of Failed Liberal Policies” Are The Black Community’s Enemy

After announcing he is resigning from his post as a Democrat lawmaker, Vernon Jones is not staying silent.

Wednesday Jones tweeted:

Straight white men aren’t the black community’s enemy. Decades of failed liberal policies that have fostered dependency are.

Jones also thanked those who have been supportive of him, writing:

Thanks to you all, I am almost at 50,000 followers.

While my party may have left me, freedom-loving, country over party Americans have embraced me.

Thank you, all. Our work is only just beginning.

Jones, who endorsed President Trump gave notice this week he’d be resigning from his role in office.

“I intend to help the Democrat Party get rid of its bigotry against Black people that are independent and conservative,” Jones said in the statement announcing his resignation, according to the Journal-Constitution. “I endorsed the White guy (Donald J. Trump) that let Blacks out of jail, and they endorsed the White guy (Joe Biden) that put Blacks in jail.”

Per dailycaller.com , Jones announced that he is stepping down from office, citing attacks and harassment from his party following his endorsement of President Donald Trump for re-election.

Jones shocked the Georgia political establishment when he became the first state-elected Democrat to endorse Trump earlier in April. While the move drew quick recognition and applause from the White House, Democratic leaders closer to home immediately disavowed him, and pledged to help unseat him from office.

The blowback from his party is too much, and he is stepping down from his post as the representative for Georgia’s 91st House District, Jones said.

“I’m sick and tired of me and my family being attacked and harassed by the Democrat Party for putting my country before my party,” Jones said in a statement released Wednesday, and first obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jones also bashed Democrats in a series of tweets:

I’ve seen more Democrats attack me for my decision to endorse @realDonaldTrump than ask me why.

They’ve used and abused folks in my community for far too long, taking our votes for granted.

Black Americans are waking up. An uprising is near.

.@RepVernonJones to @Rashad1380 : “I don’t care what the Democrat Party does to me. What are they going to do? Spank me?”

The Left hates me because they can’t control me.

They can stay mad.
