Congress Stabs Trump In The Back So He Cancels Their Picnic & Where He Sends The Food Shows His Character

By

Congress has a lot on their plate as the immigration arguments continue throughout the country. This week, President Trump decided it was appropriate to cancel the annual congressional picnic that was set to take place at the White House. He explained that it simply didn’t feel “right” with all that was going on.

Politico reports that President Trump stated on Wednesday, “I was just walking over to the Oval Office and I said, ‘You know, it doesn’t feel right to have a picnic for Congress when we’re working on doing something very important.’ It didn’t feel exactly right to me.”

This decision comes as the Trump White House is caught in the middle of a heated immigration debate amongst Americans. The left is upset with the Trump administration for their “zero tolerance” policy when it comes to enforcing immigration law. The left blame this policy for the separation of minors from their illegal immigrant parents at the border. President Trump put an end to the practice of separating families this week when he signed an executive order against it.

You may be asking yourself where all the food that would have been served at the congressional picnic is going.

The food for the picnic was already being prepared. Things like ribeye steaks, coleslaw, spinach, black beans, quinoa, and pies are already prepared, so Trump had a great idea of what to do with all of the food.

Instead of wasting the food, Trump wanted it to go to a group of people who could really use it.

Ijr.com reports:

All the food will be served Friday for lunch at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, according to a report from Bloomberg News. The food will be given to patients, caregivers, and employees at the Warrior and Family Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

“All perishables donated to Walter Reed. Non perishables to be repurposed for future events,” Stephanie Grisham, First Lady Melania Trump’s spokeswoman explained.
