Congress is FURIOUS, Has Bad News For ‘Shameful’ United Nations

By

The United Nations thought it was safe doing the bidding of President Barack Obama. But in the process it infuriated Congress, and might pay a steep price for doing so.

Perhaps all those dictatorships that make up the UN simply don’t understand how representative democracy works.

After passing an anti-Israel resolution (thanks to Obama’s refusal to veto) the United Nations is now in Congress’s crosshairs.

At risk is the enormous amount of money the US gives to the UN every year.

In fact, the US provides over 25 percent of the UN’s overall funding. Without the American money (which comes from your tax dollars) the UN couldn’t function. As if it “functions” anyway. But that’s another story…

And since the US Congress views Israel as the closest of allies, even if Obama doesn’t, it’s very displeased with the recent resolution denying Jews the right to live in their biblical heartland.

No More Funding

Texas Senator Ted Cruz wants to cut all funding to the UN until it reverses the resolution.

Cruz posted on Twitter: “Spoke w/ Israeli PM @netanyahu tonight to wish him Happy Chanukah & assure him of strong support in Congress. No US $ for UN until reversed.”

A day earlier, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham launched a bi-partisan initiative to punish the UN.

“I anticipate this vote will create a backlash in Congress against the United Nations,” Graham said. “The organization is increasingly viewed as antisemitic and seems to have lost all sense of proportionality. I will do everything in my power, working with the new administration and Congress, to leave no doubt about where America stands…”

Trump himself vowed that US treatment of Israel would be very different after he takes office in a few weeks.

And the UN better beware. Because US treatment of the world body is also going to change drastically if it keeps abusing American allies.
