Colin Kaepernick Suffers Worst Insult Yet

The Detroit Lions need a quarterback. In fact, they needed two.

But, despite all his bluster, Colin Kaepernick couldn’t even make the cut with the Lions.

Instead, they signed two young backup quarterbacks.

From Fox Business:

Colin Kaepernick will not be joining the Detroit Lions’ lineup.

The team signed 25-year-old quarterback Kyle Sloter from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad on Saturday while 26-year-old Jeff Driskel was placed on injured reserve, according to a report from the Detroit Free Press.

Twenty-six-year old Joe Callahan was also signed onto the Lions practice squad.

Kaepernick made news in November when he made his intention to return to the National Football League public. The 32-year-old began working out in front of evaluators in Atlanta, which included representatives from eight teams, according to Kaepernick’s agent Jeff Nalley in an ESPN report.

The Detroit Lions were one of the teams in attendance, alongside the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.

Given the Lions’ quarterback troubles, a lot of analysts and commentators believed that if anyone was going to give Kaepernick a second chance, it’d have to be Detroit.
