China Threatens America, So Trump Sends in Warships

By

Was this what it was like to have a real man like Teddy Roosevelt as president?

It’s been a pretty long time since we’ve had a leader willing to simply fight back without cowering in the face of political considerations.

When China recently issued a statement claiming that the dispatching US warships to eastern Asia was “undermining regional peace and stability,” Trump wasn’t playing that game.

Just days later, the Chinese woke up to find a US Navy destroyer, the USS Hopper, parked as closely as possible to a disputed part of the Philippines that China claims as its own.

From the Daily Express:

The USS Hopper came within 12 nautical miles of Huangyan Island on Wednesday, China’s foreign ministry stated.

The small island, also known as the Scarborough Shoal, is a disputed territory also claimed by the Philippines.

The US has slammed China for constructing islands and military installations in the region, arguing they could be used to obstruct free trade routes.

American officials, speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity, have said Wednesday’s “innocent passage” patrol was in accordance with international law.
