China has been testing President Trump ever since he took office.
What they did this week might have crossed a red line, and Trump was quick to call out Beijing.
Everyone knew when China reclaimed control of Hong Kong that it was only a matter of time before the city suffered the same oppressions experienced by the rest of the country.
Now, 10 years after the hand-over, Beijing is trying to impose on Hong Kong new laws that locals say curb their civil rights.
The result has been widespread protest bordering on anarchy.
For days, demonstrators have shut down the Hong Kong airport. And now China is responding by massing military forces on the border of the city state, President Trump reported.
“Our Intelligence has informed us that the Chinese Government is moving troops to the Border with Hong Kong. Everyone should be calm and safe!”

It was a rare instance of Trump directly calling out the Chinese government, with which has has worked hard to repair bilateral relations during his first two years in office.
But, there’s only so far you can push this president before he starts to push back, HARD.
China is about to find out that no matter how much Trump might desire strong bilateral ties, if Beijing decides to do something foolish in Hong Kong, it will face the might of the American military. Few can doubt that Trump would go to such measures.
