BREAKING: The NFL Might Lose One of Its Biggest Sponsors. Commissioner Goodell is Finished

The NFL is about to really feel the sting of the American public’s backlash to the disgraceful protest of the National Anthem by its entitled millionaire players.

We all knew the issue would only truly come to a head once teams and the league as a whole were hit where it really counts – in their wallets.

And that’s precisely what’s about to happen after one of the NFL’s biggest sponsors discussed cutting marketing spending during football games.

Papa John’s has been the NFL’s official pizza sponsor since 2010. But during a post-earnings conference call this week, all the talk was of how the NFL is now HURTING the company’s revenues.

Just a few years ago, Papa John’s credited its NFL ad spots with significantly boosting its business.

But now, the company is seeing major drops, and has been forced to readjust its profit forecasts for the coming year. And it blames the NFL’s poor handling of the anthem protests for that.

Papa John’s International Inc. founder John Schnatter stated: “This should have been nipped in the bud a year and a half ago.”

While Schnatter, who was a Trump-donor, remains optimistic that the NFL can rebound, he wants Commissioner Roger Goodell gone for his dismal handling of the situation.

“The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle to the players’ and owners’ satisfaction,” Schnatter told his top shareholders. “Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”

Goodell’s contract is up for renewal soon, and with so many top sponsors aligning against him, it’s difficult to see how the league could possibly choose to keep him on board.
