Authorities are providing early details of a mass shooting at a Baptist church near San Antonio this morning.
According to police, at least 20 people are dead, including a 2-year-old child.
The Dallas News reports:
Multiple victims have been hospitalized after a gunman opened fire inside a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, about 30 miles southeast of San Antonio.
A witness reported seeing the man walk into First Baptist Church and open fire about 11:30 a.m., KSAT-TV said.
Among the wounded include a 2-year-old. The gunman is also dead, according to a KSAT-TV reporter.
A series of Twitter posts revealed the horrifying chaos that ensued following the shooting.
It was reported that only about 50 people attend the church in question.
As much as half of the entire congregation might be dead.
