Breaking: McConnell Just Cancelled Everything!

By

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has cancelled the annual August recess. He cites the “historic obstruction” of Democrats who are refusing to confirm Trump’s nominees.

“Due to the historic obstruction by Senate Democrats of the president’s nominees, and the goal of passing appropriations bills prior to the end of the fiscal year, the August recess has been canceled,” McConnell said in the statement. “Senators should expect to remain in session in August to pass legislation, including appropriations bills, and to make additional progress on the president’s nominees.”

Currently, there are 148 federal judicial vacancies, and 76 are still pending due to Democratic obstruction.

Last month, President Trump suggested the Senate go to work or not go home.

“The Senate should get funding done before the August break, or NOT GO HOME,” Trump said in the May 12 tweet.

“Wall and Border Security should be included. Also waiting for approval of almost 300 nominations, worst in history. Democrats are doing everything possible to obstruct, all they know how to do. STAY!”
