Border Patrol Agents Encounter Nearly 2,000 Migrants In One Day, Hundreds Get Through


Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley sector encountered nearly 2,000 migrants in a single day on Friday, with hundreds getting past the overwhelmed officers, according to reports.

Within a 24-hour period, there were 1,909 encounters with illegal immigrants, including at least 262 “gotaways,” in which CBP officers monitored their crossing through camera or sensors but did not have the available manpower to apprehend them, Department of Homeland Security sources told Fox News.

Many more are likely to have crossed undetected.
