Biden & Pelosi Unite In Bid To Bypass The Constitution By Advocating For Washington DC Statehood

Opinion|ICYMI 6/26/2 t Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress have thumbed their noses at the Constitution.

The House of Representatives, led by Democrat California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, is expected to pass H.R. 51, a bill that would give Washington, D.C. statehood.

Biden, in a Twitter message on Thursday, voiced his support for the move saying “DC should be a state. Pass it on.”

The framers of the Constitution expressly designated that the United States capital should not be a state and the only way to change that would be a Constitutional Amendment, not a bill.

President Donald Trump said last month that Republicans in Congress would have to be “stupid” to allow D.C. to become a state.

“DC will never be a state,” the president said to The New York Post. “You mean District of Columbia, a state? Why? So we can have two more Democratic — Democrat senators and five more congressmen? No thank you. That’ll never happen.”
