Comedian Judd Apatow is a small and petty man who makes small and petty jokes. And that’s precisely why the small and petty Hollywood liberal elites so love him.
But he might have just crossed a line and gotten himself into some trouble.
During a stand-up routine, Apatow likened Donald Trump’s election to being raped.
“I feel like I’ve just been raped and I just don’t know if I’m going to get murdered,” he told his audience.
The great irony here is that Apatow has actually been honored by The Rape Foundation for “being a ‘stand-up’ guy, not just in comedy clubs, but also in support of sexual assault victims. During the past year, he has been a powerful voice for the truths about rape and an advocate for respectful treatment of victims.”
Sorry, but it would seem liberals have a very skewed idea of what it means to champion a cause. Comparing your political disappointments to actual rape only downplays the seriousness of the latter.
This the type of blunder that could cost a comedian his career…if he were a conservative.
As the writers over at Constitution pointed out:
Because he’s a liberal comedian, he can say the most egregious things and never get called out for them. If you’re a liberal comedian or a liberal artist, all criticism is negated if the target is conservatives. …if a conservative comedian of any type had said this about the Obamas, they would have been tarred and feathered and driven out of town on a rail. Their careers would be over.
