So Now the School Resource Officers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS are Tough Guys?

There are some things in life that draw my ire. One is hypocrisy, another is willful ignorance. There are also those who attack my Judeo-Christian faith heritage, my Country, and my family. However, there is one thing that sickens me most of all: cowardice.

Angela and I still have a house in Broward County, and we know many law enforcement officers there, and their commitment, courage, and bravery. It seems that there is a cancer in the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), one that has metastasized starting at the top: Sheriff Scott Israel.

It is bad enough that Broward Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson failed in his duty to protect the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. His cowardice has brought shame on this agency replete with professionals. But now, a new insult has been added to the injury, and once again, the BSO is at the forefront, and not in a positive light.

As reported by the Daily Wire:

“On [last] Friday, Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv went to the gun range to learn to fire a gun for the first time, alongside his father. According to Kyle, “My dad was there and I shot with an AR-15. After, I posted a few pictures and videos.” Kashuv was quickly called out for visiting a gun range and posting about it by a variety of other students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. But that wasn’t the end of the story. When Kyle went to school today, his principal informed him that other students had been upset by his posts, but that he hadn’t done anything wrong.”

This is the first issue. Why must a young American enjoying time with his own dad bring about a situation where others are upset? A minor child can be escorted off of school property by school personnel, be taken to an abortion clinic, without a parent’s knowledge or consent, kill her unborn child, and that’s hailed as a right. But a father takes his son to a shooting range to ensure he’s never a victim again — in accordance with his Second Amendment right — and the socialist progressive left goes apoplectic.

This concept of collectivist groupthink is a dangerous road for America to take. Why was young Kyle called out of class into the principal’s office when he had done nothing wrong? Oops, yes, he did do something wrong in the eyes of progressive socialists: he thinks differently from them. He fails to realize the principle of collective punishment, and subjugation, to the whims and will of the liberal progressive left. The prevailing sentiment at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS is to be anti-gun, and any dissenting opinions or actions, deserve correction.

Now, perhaps I would not be so incensed if that is where it ended…it doesn’t.

In Kyle’s own description:

“Near the end of third period, my teacher got a call from the office saying I need to go down and see a Mr. Greenleaf. I didn’t know Mr. Greenleaf, but it turned out that he was an armed school resource officer. I went down and found him, and he escorted me to his office. Then a second security officer walked in and sat behind me. Both began questioning me intensely.

First, they began berating my tweet, although neither of them had read it; then they began aggressively asking questions about who I went to the range with, whose gun we used, about my father, etc. They were incredibly condescending and rude. Then a third officer from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office walked in and began asking me the same questions again. At that point, I asked whether I could record the interview. They said no. I asked if I had done anything wrong. Again, they answered no. I asked why I was there. One said, “Don’t get snappy with me, do you not remember what happened here a few months ago?”

They continued to question me aggressively, though they could cite nothing I had done wrong. They kept calling me “the pro-Second Amendment kid.” I was shocked and honestly, scared. It definitely felt like they were attempting to intimidate me.
I was treated like a criminal for no reason other than having gone to the gun range and posted on social media about it.”

Three BSO officers questioning a young man for going to the shooting range with his Dad? This is FUBAR! Where the hell were these cowards on February 14th? What kind of law enforcement agency has the Broward Sheriff’s Office become? These three officers need to be immediately fired, and Mr. Kashuv should bring a lawsuit against the BSO and the Broward School Board. How is it that Nicolas Cruz, who had been expelled and banned from coming back to the campus was able to enact his heinous crime, yet Kyle Kashuv, who did nothing wrong, gets this type of treatment? Let me be very clear, this is Nazi-like and resembles a KGB type of operation. This is more aligned with an East German Stasi, secret police sort of action. How dare this Mr. Greenleaf and his two coward compatriots coerce, threaten, and intimidate this young man…and for what?

I want to know, tell me, if you are a progressive socialist and agree with this? Tell me, where was David Hogg, does he not believe his classmate has the right to go to a shooting range with his dad and receive instruction from a trained adult? I want to know, is this the type of behavior you agree with? Are you going to tell me that this is an acceptable use of the BSO School Resource Officer position? An armed kommissar interrogating an innocent young high school student? What lesson did Kyle Kashuv just receive about armed force and power?

These cowards verbally assaulted an innocent young man, violating him, all over a difference in ideology. Heck, was this little hazing session ordered by the principal? Or maybe the little socialist in training, David Hogg, complained about Kyle’s tweet and video, and had a part in this “kangaroo court?”

This is out of control, and Mr. Kashuv should remove his son from this school. But, most importantly, he needs to make any and everyone involved pay. Will Florida Governor Scott open an investigation into this, or is this the type of disgusting behavior that he condones?

Yes, I am angry, as well as any liberty-loving American should be. However, do not expect any widespread media coverage of this incident. But, we will not relent, we shall flood the Broward Sheriff’s Office with calls and emails demanding these three officers be fired, and that Sheriff Israel resign.

Do we still live in America?
