Hollywood doesn’t take too kindly to people of faith. Well, at least not to Christians.
But actor Chris Pratt isn’t letting that stop him from speaking out boldly about his faith in Jesus.
Best known for his roles in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World,” Pratt is currently one of Hollywood’s hottest stars.
Inspirationally, Pratt attributes his success to the Lord.
Recently, Pratt’s brother, an army vet who dabbles in woodworking, wanted to make him a “pocket dump tray” to take with him on the road.
He asked Chris what should be emblazoned on the tray. At first, Chris thought of something matching his humorous and macho on-screen persona:
“I went for the usual chris answer, American bald eagle smoking a cigar, holding a machine gun and an American flag whirling all bad ass in the wind maybe with some nunchucks or something.”
Then he thought about it, and realized he needed something more rooted in who he really is:
“I’d like having a touchstone that I could take with me as I travel on the road for work. Something less straight up bad ass hero and more homesick in need of comfort. So I though about this great bible verse Philippians 4:13 which I’ve relied on for strength from time to time.”
Philippians 4:13 reads: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Check out the way his brother, Cully Pratt, designed the tray that Chris now carries with him as he’s shooting some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters:
