The last bastions of secular family entertainment are falling to the ultra-liberal agenda. And Christian leaders are urging people of faith to push back by boycotting the likes of Disney.
For the first time ever, Disney will feature an “exclusively gay moment” in a feature film when its new blockbuster “Beauty and the Beast” hits theaters.
The movie’s director, Bill Condon, revealed that the character LeFou, sidekick to the villain Gaston, will “break new ground when it comes to LGBT visibility.”
According to Condon, the character will realize his homosexuality on screen in what the director described as a “nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”
Top Christian leaders say the Church needs to be wary.
Evangelist Franklin Graham wrote on Facebook:
“They’re trying to push the LGBT agenda into the hearts and minds of your children. Disney has the right to make their cartoons, it’s a free country. But as Christians we also have the right not to support their company. I hope Christians everywhere will say no to Disney.“
Denny Burk, professor of Biblical Studies at Boyce College, explained why he won’t be letting his children see “Beauty and the Beast”:
“I am not going to let a movie studio communicate to my children that sexual immorality is ‘normal and natural.'”
Al Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, added that because Disney is so good at creating high-quality entertainment that captures children’s imaginations, they have the “opportunity for a far deeper influence.”
