Donald Trump is facing a lot of pressure from a lot of different directions ahead of his inauguration as our next president.
But perhaps the most outrageous demand is coming from liberal atheists.
The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) insists that Trump’s swearing-in not include a Bible, a prayer or the phrase “so help me God.”
Not only would that infringe on Trump’s freedom of religion, it would contradict centuries of our national tradition.
It’s true that our Founding Fathers wanted to avoid imposing a state religion. But it’s also true that they were all devout Christians.
What’s more, a majority of Americans still believe in God and in the Word of God. They, the majority, want our president to swear upon the Bible.
And since this is a democracy, the FFRF will simply have to accept what most Americans want in situations like this.
Kind of like how these liberals didn’t want Trump as president in the first place. But American chose, and they have to live with it.
